PSD News Release: DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY COVID-19 UPDATE

HONOLULU – COVID-19 testing is continuously being conducted in the state prisons and jails as well as in the contracted Saguaro Correctional Center in Eloy, AZ. The latest testing updates received for the correctional facilities are as follows:

Oahu Community Correctional Center – 100 inmate test results: 23 positive, 77 negative. Two (2) positive staff test results.

Halawa Correctional Facility – Two (2) positive staff test results.

Kulani Correctional Facility – 14 negative inmate test results

Kauai Community Correctional Center – Two (2) negative inmate test results.

Women’s Community Correctional Center – Two (2) previously reported positive employees have recovered.

Waiawa Correctional Facility – One (1) previously reported positive employee has recovered.

COVID-19 updates for other PSD Divisions are as follows:

Sheriff Division (Oahu) – Two (2) positive staff test results.

Administration Division (Oahu – Central Office) – One (1) previously reported positive admin employee was re-tested and confirmed negative. The false positive was removed from the active COVID staff count.
