PSD News Release: DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY COVID-19 UPDATE
Posted on Jan 4, 2022 in Latest Department News, NewsroomHONOLULU – COVID-19 testing is continuously being conducted in the state prisons and jails as well as in the contracted Saguaro Correctional Center in Eloy, AZ. The latest testing updates received for other correctional facilities are as follows:
Oahu Community Correctional Center – 18 inmate test results; Six (6) positive, 12 negative. One (1) positive staff test result.
Maui Community Correctional Center – Six (6) positive staff test results. One (1) employee has recovered.
Halawa Correctional Facility – Four (4) positive staff test results. Five (5) employees have recovered. 21 negative inmate test results.
Waiawa Correctional Facility – Three (3) positive staff test result.
Kauai Community Correctional Center – Six (6) inmate test results; One (1) positive, five (5) negative. One (1) positive staff test result.
Hawaii Community Correctional Center – Eight (8) negative inmate test results.
COVID-19 updates for other PSD Divisions are as follows:
Sheriff Division – Five (5) positive staff test results. Four (4) previously reported positive Sheriff Division employees have recovered.
The Department of Public Safety (PSD) continues to encourage all staff and inmates to voluntarily get tested and receive the COVID-19 vaccination.
