PSD News Release: DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY COVID-19 UPDATE

HONOLULU – COVID-19 testing is continuously being conducted in the state prisons and jails as well as in the contracted Saguaro Correctional Center in Eloy, AZ. The latest testing updates received for the correctional facilities are as follows:

Oahu Community Correctional Center – 336 inmate results; Eight (8) positive, 328 negative. Four (4) positive staff test results.

Women’s Community Correctional Center – Five (5) positive inmate test results. In addition, one (1) extended furlough inmate living in community-based furlough housing tested positive and was returned to WCCC.

Halawa Correctional Facility – 76 inmate test results; One (1) positive, 75 negative. Five (5) positive employee test results.  Four (4) employees have recovered.

Maui Community Correctional Center – 64 inmate test results; One (1) positive, 63 negative.

Kulani Correctional Facility – Five (5) positive staff test results. 22 negative inmate test results.

Kauai Community Correctional Center – Two (2) positive staff test results. 17 negative inmate test results.

Hawaii Community Correctional Center – One (1) positive staff test result. Four (4) negative inmate test results.

Waiawa Correctional Facility – One (1) positive staff test result.

COVID-19 updates for other PSD Divisions are as follows:

Sheriff Division – Five (5) positive staff test results. 15 Sheriff Division employees have recovered and returned to work.

Administrative Division (Oahu) – One (1) positive staff test result. Four (4) admin employees have recovered.
