PSD NEWS RELEASE: DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY COVID-19 UPDATE

HONOLULU – COVID-19 testing is continuously being conducted statewide at all facilities. The Hawaii Community Correctional Center (HCCC) reports 68 inmate test results, two of which were positive and 66 were negative. HCCC also reports 18 staff test results. Of that number, 17 were negative and one was inconclusive and will be retested. The Halawa Correctional Facility reports one new positive staff case. The employee last worked 7/21/21. In addition, HCF reported 2 negative inmate test results.

The latest testing updates received for other facilities are as follows:

Oahu Community Correctional Center – 26 negative inmate test results

Kulani Correctional Facility – 20 negative inmate test results

Waiawa Correctional Facility – 4 negative inmate test results

Women’s Community Correctional Center- 2 negative inmate test results

Kauai Community Correctional Center- 1 negative inmate test result
