PSD News Release: Department of Public Safety COVID-19 update

HONOLULU – COVID-19 testing is continuously being conducted in the state prisons and jails as well as in the contracted Saguaro Correctional Center in Eloy, AZ. The latest testing updates received for the correctional facilities are as follows:

Oahu Community Correctional Center – 210 inmate test results; 28 positive, 182 negative.

Hawaii Community Correctional Center – Eight (8) inmate test results; Five (5) positive, three (3) negative.

Halawa Correctional Facility – Four (4) inmate test results; Three (3) positive, one (1) negative. Four (4) employees have recovered.

Kauai Community Correctional Center – 36 inmate test results; One (1) positive, 35 negative. One previously reported positive inmate was released.

Saguaro Correctional Center (Eloy, AZ) – One (1) positive inmate test result.

Women’s Community Correctional Center – 11 negative inmate test results.

Maui Community Correctional Center – Five (5) negative inmate results.

COVID-19 updates for other PSD Divisions are as follows:

Administration Division – One (1) positive staff test result reported.
