USAG NEWS RELEASE: Army joining National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

The Army’s collection location will be located at the Schofield Barracks Post Exchange from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This semi-annual event provides a safe, convenient and responsible means for disposing of prescription drugs while educating the public about the potential for abuse. At past National Prescription Take Back events, Army installations have collected over 48,000 pounds of unwanted, unused prescription drugs.
The National Prescription Take Back Day was initiated in 2010 by the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), to encourage the turn in of unused or expired prescribed medication for proper disposal.
Please note, new or used syringes/needles will not be accepted.
