2019 HACC taps local talent for solutions

How do you develop creative tech solutions to government challenges? The answers come at the Hawai‘i Annual Code Challenge (HACC) where teams of student and community coders create fresh approaches to real-world issues. This year’s teams competed Nov. 16 with solutions related to green loans, electric vehicle charging stations and sustainability ideas to share among schools. The HACC, conceived by Governor Ige and coordinated by the state’s Office of Enterprise Technology Services, drew nearly 200 participants. “Our local talent is why I want to create more jobs for them here at home,” the governor said.
